Elana Amsterdam founded Ecosav in 1993, combining her passion for ecological
protection with her practical approach to economically sensible business solutions.
She delivered a new type of recycling program to the corporate sector, with hands-on,
closely monitored accounting of recovered resources.
In addition to protecting the environment, Ecosav's programs have reduced
clients' waste removal expenses by more than 80% on average. These environmentally
sound and financially successful programs have saved numerous clients hundreds
of thousands of dollars per year.
Ecosav has been featured in Fortune Magazine,
Working Woman and other
publications and Ms. Amsterdam has appeared on CNN
and MSNBC discussing
environmental and waste management issues.
She has spoken to the New York City Department of Sanitation, The New York City
Restaurant Association as well as being a featured speaker for the Partnership for
Women Entrepreneurs and at the Women In Business Expo Series.
Just four years after founding her company, Ms. Amsterdam was named one of
the "40 Under Forty" by Crain's New York Business, which profiles up and coming
young businesspeople to watch.
